Tailor-Made Travel to Spain

Discover authentic experiences. Plan your trip with local experts.

Spain rewards travellers who slow down. Beyond the famous cities and the well-trodden routes lies a country of whitewashed villages, family-run bodegas, Moorish palaces and long lunches that drift into the afternoon – the kind of places and unhurried moments most visitors pass straight by. Our tailor-made tours of Spain are designed to take you there – not as a checklist of sights to tick off, but as a slower, more personal way to see the country.

Every journey we plan is genuinely customised. Drawing on deep local knowledge, regional connections built over more than a decade, and a firsthand understanding of what makes Spain worth travelling for, our private bespoke Spain tours take you deeper into the art, architecture, and gastronomy that define each region. Whether your Spain is the Moorish palaces of Andalucia, the wine country of La Rioja or the Pintxos bars of San Sebastian, we shape each itinerary around the experiences that matter most to you.

Booking a tailor-made tour of Spain with Just Explore means travelling at your own pace, with a confidence that everything is taken care of. We know the restaurant worth the detour for a special occasion and the accommodation that suits how you like to stay. In the company of local guides, specialist historians and the winemakers, chefs and artisans who bring each corner of the country to life, your custom Spain trip will leave you with a sense of place that takes years to find on your own.

Why Travel With Us?

Spain is where Just Explore began, and it’s the country our team knows most intimately. As a small, boutique agency led by Rosa Lara – a born-and-raised Andalucian with more than a decade of experience across every region of the country – it’s the personal touch that defines how we work. We take the time to understand exactly what you’re looking for, through your initial enquiry and the conversations that follow, before drawing on our network of local connections to build something around it.

We take care of all the arrangements – the logistics, the bookings, the restaurant reservations, the transfers – so you’re free to simply enjoy Spain without the details getting in the way. We also revisit our destinations regularly, staying across new openings, emerging wine regions and experiences worth adding to an itinerary, which means our recommendations stay current and our advice stays honest.

What Our Guests Are Saying

Rosa Lara, CEO & Founder

Meet Rosa, the Local Behind Just Explore

Just Explore was founded by Rosa Lara, a born-and-raised Andalusian who has spent years travelling every region of Spain. The company grew out of a simple frustration: too many people were visiting extraordinary places without ever really experiencing them – rushed through crowded sights while the people, traditions and flavours that make Spain special passed them by.

So Rosa set out to design the kind of trips she’d recommend to her own family and friends. Sometimes that means a quiet village over a famous landmark, or longer in fewer places. Always it means honest advice and itineraries built on first-hand knowledge

More than a decade on, Rosa and her team still plan every journey personally – and you’ll deal directly with the person shaping your trip, from your first message to your final day in Spain.

The Insider Guide to Spain

Spain is really many countries in one, and half the art of a great trip is knowing which corner suits you – and when to go.

Spain’s Many Regions

The south – Andalucía – is the Spain of flamenco, tapas and the great Moorish cities of Granada, Córdoba and Seville, where the Alhambra and the Mezquita sit within easy reach of whitewashed hill villages, silver-green olive groves and Renaissance gems like Úbeda and Baeza. Nearby, the fine sherries of Jerez and the rocky peaks of the Sierra Nevada add further depth to this sun-drenched corner of the country.

Head north and the mood changes completely: the green, Atlantic Spain of the Basque Country and Galicia, San Sebastián’s pintxos bars, Bilbao’s Guggenheim and the pilgrim city of Santiago de Compostela.

In the centre lie Madrid’s world-class galleries, Gaudí’s Barcelona and the honey-stone streets of Toledo, Segovia and Salamanca – while La Rioja and Ribera del Duero pour some of Europe’s finest wines.

On the east coast, Valencia brings its own flair, from the futuristic Ciudad de las Artes y Ciencias to the birthplace of paella, while further out to sea the Balearic Islands – Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza – offer a laid-back mix of turquoise coves, whitewashed old towns and blissful beach life.

When to Travel to Spain

Spring and autumn are the loveliest seasons for most regions – warm but unhurried – while the far south stays gentle well into October and the green north is at its best in early summer. Spanish life also runs on its own clock: lunch is the main event, dinner rarely starts before nine, and many towns slow right down in the afternoon, which is exactly when the quieter corners come into their own.

These are the rhythms we build your customised travel in Spain around, so you’re in the right place at the right time rather than queuing behind the coaches.

How We Plan it Differently

This is where bespoke Spain trips earn their keep. Because we only recommend places we’ve visited ourselves, our Spain custom-made trips are shaped by real experience – the family-run restaurant worth a detour, the winery that welcomes you like a guest, the hill town that’s still quietly itself.

We keep our small group tours small and our private journeys properly private, and you’ll always deal directly with the people designing your trip. Whether you’re after exclusive, privately guided days or a slower, character-led wander through a single region, we’ll craft an itinerary that feels like it was made for you – because it was.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is a tailor-made tour of Spain?

A tailor-made (or bespoke) tour of Spain is a private trip designed entirely around you, rather than a fixed package. We plan the route, pace, accommodation, guides and experiences to match your interests, your budget and the time you have – so no two of our customised Spain tours are ever the same.

How far in advance should I plan a bespoke Spain trip?

We’d suggest getting in touch six to ten months before you travel, and earlier for spring, autumn and peak dates, when the best guides and small hotels book up quickly. That said, we’ve put together wonderful trips at shorter notice, so it’s always worth asking.

What’s included in a customised Spain tour?

Most of our bespoke Spain travel includes accommodation, expert English-speaking local guides, private transport and carefully chosen experiences, along with a detailed day-by-day itinerary and 24/7 support throughout your trip. You’ll also have access to our user-friendly mobile app, keeping your entire itinerary in one place on your device and available offline, so everything you need is on hand even without signal. We tailor exactly what’s included to your journey – international flights are usually the one thing we leave to you.

Do you offer small group tours as well as private trips?

Both. Alongside fully private, tailor-made journeys, we run small group tours capped at 12 people – a more sociable way to travel that still feels personal. Whichever you choose, you’ll travel with knowledgeable local guides and deal directly with the team designing your trip.

Are Spain tailor-made tours more expensive than a standard package?

Not necessarily. Because we plan around your priorities, your budget goes towards the things that matter to you and not the things that don’t. A customised trip gives you far more control over cost than an off-the-shelf package, plus honest advice on where it’s worth spending and where it isn’t.

Ready to plan your tailor-made trip to Spain?

Tell us what you have in mind – a region you’ve always wanted to see, the pace that suits you, the kind of experiences you love – and we’ll do the rest.

Every Just Explore journey is customised from scratch and planned with you directly, drawing on years of first-hand knowledge of Spain. Whether it’s a private tour of Andalucía, a food-and-wine route through the north or a grand journey across the whole country, we’ll shape an itinerary around you.
